My favourite clients would have to be puppies and dogs! Capturing breathtaking photos of these furry four-legged animals brings a lot of joy. All dogs have a photogenic side as well as a goofy side perfect for fun photos for their owners.
Although the photos look easy, they can become difficult quickly if you don’t know how to catch their attention. You also have to know your camera and settings well to take both still shots and candid shots. With my parent’s dog, it can be difficult to capture a photo with her while she is still because she has so much energy and is constantly wagging her tail. In cases like this, I would increase my shutter speed and adjust my ISO and aperture depending on how much light is needed to take a good photo. I usually grab her favourite toy or treat while she is at a distance to influence her to run towards me while I take multiple shots of her run in action.
In the future, I want to perfect my animal portraits so I can incorporate many different styles depending on what look I am going for. I have seen photos in the past that have inspired me to look into pet photography. These photos have a wide range of different backdrops and contents. I typically go for the natural route by using the outdoors, but in time, I hope to have my own photography studio where I will have a collection of different backdrops and props for every season and holiday.
Love this, great photo!
